Faridah Najjemba, Coordinator Lwengo Hope Centre

The Lwengo Hope Centre Team is headed by Faridah Najjemba as the Coordinator and assisted by Carol Nalusiba. Currently, the Hope centre has 19 children enrolled on the Child sponsorship program .

The Hope Centre started in March 2010, following rescue of a baby who had been abandoned in the bush in Kyangwe village, Lwengo District (Then Masaka District). The child had been tied and placed in a sack and was on the verge of death. When ECM learnt about this case, the child was rescued and rehabilitated which led to the birth of the Program with the goal of supporting other needy children in the area.

The activities of the Hope Centre have since expanded from rescue to also include; child sponsorship, counseling and guidance (through Saturday clubs, family and school visits), art and crafts.
