Tororo Hope Centre

Alex Abiro, Coordinator Tororo Hope Centre

Tororo Hope Centre was started in 2015, spearheaded by the current Programs Manager, Ms. Sophie Akello.  In 2015, the Hope centre had 7 children on the child sponsorship program but over the years, the number has expanded to include over 20 children.

The Program is specially known for its advocacy for rights of children living with Albinism. We currently support more than 30 people with albinism in the area.

Our key activities include: child sponsorship; Evangelism and counseling (through Saturday club sessions, bible lessons, family and school visits;); hand crafts (making ropes, artifacts and table clothes, among others) and health support.

Currently, Tororo Hope Centre is in the process of establishing a computer training centre where the children can acquire basic I.T skills.
